The official way I kick off summer, is by planning my outfits for Memorial weekend! I enjoy meticulously pairing looks together for every event, which translates into not over- packing. This was a bad habit of mine for many years, and slowly I am breaking free of it. My old mantra of “the more shoes the merrier” is gone. Streamlining your wardrobe to fit into a carry on, is liberating! A few days in Las Vegas was my chance to put this to test.
The Wynn Tower Suites is always a fabulous stay, starting with drinks in the VIP lounge. Beautiful decor, a fully stocked fridge, fruit, and freshly baked cookies, makes one feel oh-so welcome. My Forever 21 jumpsuit was ideal for travel, and the yellow and green tribal prints were cheerful and light. Color always affects your mood for the better. Perfectly manicured greens, that seemed to span for miles, made for breathtaking views of the Wynn golf course.
After a day at the pool, I couldn’t wait to get ready for the night out, and wear my one shoulder Brian Lichtenberg dress. Ruby red glitter dress, Louboutin platforms, and Belina earrings were Vegas to the T! Every girl needs one, shop here: www.singer22.com

The lounge at the Tower Suites is absolutely beautiful, I wish my living room looked just like this! Relaxing here before stepping into the casino is very serene.
Vegas pool parties are the perfect opportunity to dress up in the daytime. I went with a leopard straw hat by Jessica Simpson, Donna Mizani silk cropped blouse, white H&M organic cotton skirt, gold YSL Tributes, Topshop bag, and Fendi scarf.
The perforations in the skirt really complimented the scalloped edges of my top. I chose oversize hoop earrings and long necklace to pull it together. This skirt from H&M was a lucky find. The mannequin was wearing the last one, and they were kind enough to strip her of it so I could take it home. For 25$, you can’t go wrong with the summer trend.
Tying a silk scarf is a sassy way to dress up a simple bag, and wear it later if need be.
We spent Memorial Day home in Newport Beach, and enjoyed perfect weather. My English Bulldog, Magoo, enjoys a sunny stroll as much as we do, so he joined us! Haute Cakes Caffe is one of my favorite places for brunch. The setting is beautiful, food is delicious, and it is very dog friendly! Several other couples brought they dogs out for the day, but Magoo was focused solely on the blueberry pancakes my boyfriend was eating.
I felt inspired to wear something feminine and fun, so a silk print dress by “We Love Vera” I found at Anthropolgie a few months pack, made its debut. It happened to 70% off, so for 45$, I had to add it to my dress collection. A cute dress can look like a million bucks, if you take the time to custom tailor it to your body. After shortening it, removing the pockets, and adding a statement belt, voila. I suggest investing in tailoring when you see potential in any piece, especially if you feel a strong connection upon finding it.
Matching my belt, shoes and bag was easy for this outfit. Pulling out my favorite Valentino bag, and Micheal Kors slingbacks from the archives, made me smile. When you build up a solid collection, items from seasons past look better with each wear. Invest in quality, and comfort, as it will always pay you back. Timeless pieces keep you looking classy!
My handsome boys Magoo and Angelo took a break by a fountain in Fashion Island. Get your man to wear a pop of color with a polo. He can’t complain too much, as long as he can wear his G Star jeans and Jack Purcell’s. Hope you Memorial weekend was great too!
