Playing dress up…

Fashion is one of the most powerful forms of expression. It tells who the world who we want to be.  For this reason, my bulldog Magoo, decided to sit with a pair of Louboutins! He hopes to be an amazing shoe designer in his next life!As most women know, sometimes the best part of going out, is getting ready.  Putting together the perfect outfit, is truly an art!  Listening to music, and playing stylist to yourself, can trump the actual destination.  I personally always dress for my mood, and visualize how I see myself.  Instead of blending in, why not stand out? Most girls stuff themselves into awkward, too-tight dresses, in hopes of  attracting the opposite sex.  Being an individual, is about confidence, please yourself first!  Looks I am loving lately are long sleeve, long dresses.  Whenever I see one, I have to snag it.  Luckily, H&M offered a a killer black printed version, that I fell in love with. My sister and I had drinks at the Roger Room on La Cienega, a favorite of ours.  I found my vintage necklace earlier that day Miriam Claudette in Sunset Plaza.  She has an amazing variety of some of best new, and vintage jewelry in LA.  Make sure to stop in! Pink Dusk by Tom Ford is one of the most beautiful lipstick color I have ever bought.  The texture is incredible, smooth and velvety, with shea butter and the sweet smell of roses.  The lipstick cost more then my dress!  I am obsessed with the packaging, and well, my love for Tom Ford knows no bounds! I finally got to wear my navy velvet shorts by Alexa Chung for Madewell, this weekend at Mesa, in Costa Mesa. My yellow blouse is by Boulee, mixing silk, velvet and lace is always a fun combo.  My short sleeve, faux fur (of course), jacket is Zara, another piece I have been waiting to wear for a few months.  Now that we have that “in between” weather in So Cal, it just felt right! Never give up on great pieces in your wardrobe, their moment will always arrive… My vintage 1970′s navy velvet bag pulled the outfit together perfectly!  This was a score at New York Vintage in Chelsea.  The lucite handle is beyond, and the bag is in perfect condition.  Hard to believe it is over 30 years old.  The inside has a tiny mirror, and a silk coin-purse.  Ladies then had their priorities!
