A Night at the Redbury…

The Redbury Hotel, www.theredbury.com, in Hollywood is a gem of a boutique hotel.  An intimate and seductive vibe envelops you instantly.  The intricate details in every element of design create a sexy and chic vibe.  A friends birthday dinner was the feted occasion, where we dined at the hotel restaurant, Cleo.  Like all SBE establishments, their is a constant stream of attractive and well dresses patrons, much to my delight.  A large part of a night out, is the entertainment provided by people watching.  The categories of: older guys claiming to be producers, Armenian girls vying to be another Kardashian sister, C list celebs, and tourists that read about it in Us Weekly, are all filled here too.  It is all part of Saturday night in Hollywood!  I wore a fabulous sheath by Gucci from the Spring 2011 collection, also worn by one of my style icons, Jennifer Lopez.IMG 1221 337x450 A Night at the Redbury... The color of the dress is a muted grey, with a matching gold plated waist belt.  My vintage metallic basket weave handbag finally had an evening out.  I found it last year at New York Vintage in Chelsea, it’s in mint condition and from the 1960′s. Nude Madame Butterfly Louboutin’s, pulled the look together just as I had envisioned.  IMG 1224 337x450 A Night at the Redbury... The “Glade” is the outdoor lounge area, a lovely enclave that hotel guests have the pleasure to overlook from their patio.  Summer evenings here will be fabulous with a cocktail!  It takes you away, and is as close to NY as you can get in LA.  IMG 1231 337x450 A Night at the Redbury... Suede loafers on men are a must! Keeping with my “barely grey” theme, my boyfriend paired G Star jeans with a crisp navy blazer, and a pale lavender button down.  I have never understood how some men wear a button down shirt un-tucked with pants.  There is nothing more unflattering or sloppy! It instantly makes a man look slimmer, and forces him to ensure his posture is proper.  Just as we ladies have to stand with poise, our gents must follow the same protocol.  Here we are in “The Library”, adjacent to the outdoor “Glade”.  I loved the decor here, stark white, and a hanging skeleton for added drama. A fabulous dining room can be found inside the Library, complete with mismatched frames of classic movie stars to watch over you.  The chair made for quite the accessory…IMG 1257 337x450 A Night at the Redbury... This massive image of a woman metal snakes wrapped around her breasts, greets you upon entering Cleo.  Byzantine glam to the max! The dinner tables were simple and understated, just as you would find in Tangiers.  IMG 1256 337x450 A Night at the Redbury... The lobby may be my favorite decor, the unexpected pairing of checker floors and paisley walls, worked beautifully.  Fashion and flair meets interior design.   IMG 1258 303x450 A Night at the Redbury...
